The changing role of religion in society
Last week's Church Tines offered a helpful summary by Prof. Grace Davie of her other work on the role of 'vicarious religion', as expounded in her publications over the past five years.
FutureFaith is already emerging, influenced and shaped by the responses of people in many different circumstances, seeking to live by the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in this rapidly changing modern world. Some individual thinkers have contributed their thoughts in words, some of which are published here. Others have found ways to translate words into action, gathering people together in communities of different kinds to share their journey of faith in response of the places they find themselves together. You'll find a handful of suggestions of web-places to visit, some maybe already familiar, others less well known, where new stories of faith are being told and offered to the world.
